We're back to performing in person!
The Ottawa Gay Men’s Chorus is thrilled with the attendance at its first in-person concert in over two years. Not only were we able to finally sing in-person, but we also had St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church at near capacity. We were overwhelmed by the support and warm words from our friends, family, and our dear guests.
Our holiday concert, A Winter Faerie, featured a multilingual program. It included a beautiful piece in Swedish (Jul, jul, strålande Jul) — and contemporary pieces as well as traditional songs that emphasized being connected, surrounded by family, friends, and loved ones. Something we all needed after being socially distant for so long.
If you would like to join the Chorus, we will have open rehearsals in January on Wednesdays from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm at St John the Evangelist Anglican Church. We look forward to meeting new choristers as we prepare a new repertoire for our spring concert: CGOGMC Goes to the Movies!
Due to the current shutdown, we will be rehearsing virtually on January 12, 19, and 26 via Zoom. We hope to return to in-person singing as soon as possible.
Open Rehearsals will be January 12 and 19, 2022, from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm.
CGOGMC invites you to listen to some of our recent holiday concerts to help put you in the season spirit:
CGOGMC’s first virtual concert “Oh What Fun” is a musical celebration of the fun, joy and cheer of the festive season. This uplifting combination of age-old classics, contemporary holiday songs in both English and French is just what audiences are looking for to put them in the spirit of the season.
